In a significant breakthrough, Doda Police claimed to have solved a kidnapping case involving a minor girl who was reportedly abducted earlier this month. According to a police statement shared with The Chenab Times, the girl was successfully recovered from Haryana, and the accused has been arrested.
Police said that on May 5, 2025, a complaint was lodged at Police Post Kastigarh by one Shoket Ali, son of Bashir Ahmed, a resident of Gurmul Dhandal, alleging that his minor daughter had been kidnapped by unknown individuals. Acting swiftly, Police Station Doda registered a case under FIR No. 103/2025, invoking Section 137(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), and initiated an investigation.
A special police team was constituted under the guidance of senior officers, and efforts were intensified through technical surveillance and inquiries from the girl’s family and relatives. “The team was dispatched to Haryana, where the girl was successfully traced and recovered,” police told The Chenab Times.
The accused has been identified as Shoket Ali, son of Mussa Gujar, a resident of Chakka Bhartund in Rajgarh Tehsil of Ramban district. He was arrested from Haryana, and the minor girl has since been safely reunited with her family after the completion of legal formalities.
The operation was conducted by the teams of Police Station Doda and Police Post Kastigarh under the supervision of DySP Headquarters Doda and SHO Doda, with overall direction from SSP Doda, Sandeep Mehta (JKPS). Police said the investigation in the case is ongoing.
