A 45-year-old woman, injured in a grenade attack near the Tourist Reception Center (TRC) in Srinagar on November 3, has succumbed to her injuries at SMHS Hospital, officials confirmed on Tuesday.
The deceased, identified as Abida alias Sumaiya, wife of Zubair Ahmed Lone, a resident of Naid Khai Sumbal in Bandipora, was among the victims of the attack. Despite receiving intensive medical treatment at SMHS Hospital, she tragically lost her battle to the severe injuries sustained during the incident.
According to hospital authorities, her condition had remained critical since the attack, and all efforts to stabilize her were unsuccessful.
The grenade attack near the busy TRC area had left multiple civilians injured, prompting widespread condemnation and heightened security measures in the region. The incident is currently under investigation, and authorities have intensified efforts to identify and apprehend those responsible.
This tragic death has added to the grief and concern among residents, highlighting the continued challenges posed by sporadic violence in the region.
